Breed History
The Cymric has the exact origins of the Manx. It is found at the start on the Isle of Man, between England and Ireland. However, it takes its name from Cymru, which is the Celtic name for Wales!
The various inbred mutations have allowed the creation of a cat with the almost total absence of a tail. Like the Manx, however, there are different varieties depending on the length of the bottom: the rumpy-riser, the stumpy, the longy, and the rumpy. Moreover, only the types without a tail have the right to present themselves in the competitions.
These cats are viral across the Atlantic, whether in the United States or Canada, particularly in breeding programs during the second half of the 20th century.
