Breed history
To be more precise, the Burmese originate from Southeast Asia, from Thailand. We find its trace several centuries BC. During the Ayudhya period, a cat of a copper color detonated. This description strangely resembles the Burmese as we know it when it first appeared in 1930.
The first Burmese comes from a cross between Wong Mau, a Siamese with a dark coat imported into the United States by Dr. Thomson, and a Siamese. Another crossing gave a rather dark brown cat that took Burmese’s name. Attention, this breed of cat should in no way be confused with the Sacred Birman.
Over the years, the difference is notorious between the American Burmese and the English Burmese, which has continued to mutate thanks to the research of British researchers. The latter brought a variety of more critical colors recognized by the standard. Across the Channel, it is also a cat very popular with the English.
